fter cooking for a few years with another team in the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest in Memphis, Brett decided to start his own team. Mark (The Rib Master) joined the team and they started to hit the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) BBQ circuit. Memphis in Mundelein developed into an Award Winning Barbecue Team after entering their first contest, The Wisconsin State Championships in 1999. Winning two awards for chicken and pork, they were bitten.

Brett Comments "We have gone from competing in two contests a year to three or four. We would enter even more if we didn't have day jobs. Our cooker has grown from a backyard cooker to a trailer mounted cooker that can feed more than 200 people."

They have won awards for every meat category, chicken, pork, brisket and finally ribs, thanks to Mark The Rib Master. From their home in Mundelein, just outside Chicago, Memphis in Mundelein would like to spread the good food and good times.
